TSA Motto
Learning To Live In A Technical World
The Technology Student Association Creed
I believe that Technology Education holds an important place in my life in the technical world.
I believe there is a need for the development of good attitudes concerning work, tools, materials, experimentation, and processes of industry.
Guided by my teachers, artisans from industry, and my own initiative, I will strive to do my best in making my school, community, state, and nation better places in which to live.
I will accept the responsibilities that are mine.
I will accept the theories that are supported by proper evidence.
I will explore on my own for safer, more effective methods of working and living.
I will strive to develop a cooperative attitude and will exercise tact and respect for other individuals.
Through the work of my hands and mind, I will express my ideas to the best of my ability.
I will make it my goal to do better each day the task before me, and to be steadfast in my belief in my God, and my fellow Americans.
Competition Overview
TSA members are given the opportunity to select from a list of events to compete in, either individually or as a group. Teams will work on researching their topics and addressing the event's written prompt and brief, documenting their work in detail along the way. Members can work during meetings, during class, or outside of school to prepare for up to six events. After teams have had time to work with their teams on their respective projects, chapters will hold club-wide competitions to decide which teams advance to their state's regional competition. At regionals, teams from other chapters will compete, presenting their work or participating in events at regionals to panels of professional judges and teachers. The finalists of regionals proceed to TSA nationals, where the best-performing individuals and teams will compete in their events. This year, our chapter hosted regional conferences for Northern California and several of our members will be attending TSA Nationals in Washington D.C.
